In Memory Of Chris R. Mitchell, SR.
AKA Waliguy

May 8, 1963 To April 11, 2008

Chris Mitchell gave "25-8" to everything - whether supporting clients through his business (25-8 marketing, inc), giving to his Community, and most importantly loving and caring for his family.  25-8 was not a mere marketing gimmick, it was the way Chris lived his life.  He knew that life was more than a 24 hour a day / 7 day a week adventure.

And It was "just another adventure" on April 11th.....Chris had just dropped off his oldest son Chris JR, age 19, at the Guards for the weekend.  One might envision Chris behind the wheel of his Cavalier - driving with his sunglasses on, smoothing his hand against his proud-to-be-bald head, singing to a favorite rock song, with a smile on his face, a sparkle in his eye, knowing that all in life was good. Chris had
a good career, an incredible family, and friends - peers that held the utmost respect for him.  Even the unexpected snow storm would somehow be good - after all - he just had the privilege of taking his oldest son to Guard! And yes - time alone to ponder the next marketing program for his new client, the next great cup of coffee (Chris roasted his own!), the upcoming fishing opener, or perhaps just thinking about family time.....Chris, a single dad was truly devoted to his children and granddaughter, was their sole supporter and caregiver.

And then it happened....unexpected, unprovoked, unknowingly on that slippery slushy snowy road Chris was struck head on by an oncoming vehicle that had traveled out of control into Chris' lane. Chris died enroute to the hospital.

His three teenage children with unfinished childhoods are now parentless and tackling adult decisions and situations without their father's steady and loving guidance.

Heart-wrenching sobs, unmistakable shrieks, silence, tears, agony, ongoing grief...and now three children and a granddaughter left behind.

There's magic in a Father's touch
and sunshine in his smile.

There's love in everything he does
to make our lives worthwhile.

We can find both hope and courage
just by looking in his eyes.

His laugher is a source of joy.
His words are warm and wise.

There is a kindness and compassion to be found in his embrace and we see the light of heaven shining from our Father's face.
